Biography
Raf Banzuela is self taught in design and illustration. He was employed as a graphic designer working for a studio doing corporate and advertising before setting out into the freelance world. He loves creating detailed works influenced by the ink drawings of the 18th century and the eye popping colors of the 80’s. He has illustrated books, ads, video games and posters for the likes of independent game developers and to firms such as Leo Burnet, Bottleneck Gallery and Cheil. On personal pieces he is drawn to the themes of science fiction and the fluctuations of fantasy. When not crunched down in front of the computer drawing lines he is out taking care of cacao trees, or running or cycling.
