Inspired by the 1988 John Carpenter film, “They Live“, artist and lover of all things creepy, Chris Garofalo and Mad Duck Posters have just released a tribute poster titled “Do Not Question Authority.”

Nada (Roddy Piper), a wanderer without meaning in his life, discovers a pair of sunglasses capable of showing the world the way it truly is. As he walks the streets of Los Angeles, Nada notices that both the media and the government are comprised of subliminal messages meant to keep the population subdued, and that most of the social elite are skull-faced aliens bent on world domination. With this shocking discovery, Nada fights to free humanity from the mind-controlling aliens.

Here is what Chris had to say about the film and this project. “The subliminal messages in “They Live” still hold up to this day, and are in fact even more relevant than they’ve ever been in today’s world. Having previously created two prints for this film, I decided to complete the trilogy of ideas with this final print, focusing on the authoritative aspect and the alien corruption behind it. Choosing to create a badge that represented those motifs was both unsettling and fun. “

The regular edition (silver) of the print costs $25 and is available in an edition size of 50.  The variant (gold) is available in an edition of 30 and costs $30. Both prints measure 12″ x 18″
