There is ALWAYS a lot of Star Wars stuff going on but it seems that with the new movie coming out later this year, things have kicked into high gear. BTW, did you hear that J.J. Abrams wants to move the release date up to EARLIER in the year to avoid any more “leaks?” Hey, if I don’t have to wait until Christmas to see this one, I’m fine with that. The sooner I see this one the better! One thing you don’t have to wait for is this new print by Orlando Arocena.
Utilizing his signature pop-deco style, Orlando’s new tribute features stunning images of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. Give it a look and see what Orlando had to say about the project over on his BEHANCE PAGE.
Out of all the Starwars movies, Empire Strikes Back is my ultimate favorite. We get introduced to the Emperor, Boba Fett, and get a front row seat to experiencing the Power of the Dark Side. There’s one particular scene where I believe the Art Direction /set design/ lighting is just phenomenal! Where Vader trys out his Carbonite toy on Han Solo….The emphasis on Tech Deco and the extreme cool / hot tones makes it a visual feast for the eyes. The one scene that has stuck with me all these years and my favorite portrayal of SINISTER has to be the sequence of the carbonite smoke billowing upward and revealing the ominous Vader ( 1:50 video below ). Well, creatively I wanted to capture and embellish upon these elements with a vector pop deco tribute. Cheer and enjoy~ Orlando Arocena
