In 1976 “Rocky” instantly became one of the most inspirational fiction sports films of all time. The film stars Sylvester Stallone, Burgess Meredith, Talia Shire, Carl Weathers and Burt Young and features the memorable score of Bill Conti. In the film, Stallone plays Rocky Balboa, a small-time boxer who gets a supremely rare chance to fight the heavy-weight champion, Apollo Creed, (Carl Weathers), in a bout in which he strives to go the distance for his self-respect. This film has SO much going for it that it still remains a favorite to fans everywhere. Love story, underdog story, inspirational story, sports story, and so on and so on and so on, it just doesn’t get much better than this one.
Salvador Anguiano has just released a tribute print to the film that helped launch the massive career of Stallone and it’s awesome. The print is available in extremely limited quantities and comes in two versions.
